Original Paper Cut Still Life in Oak by Melissa Parman

Created one by one in her Texas studio, Melissa Parman's original watercolor paper cuts evoke the spirit of 18th-century folk art. We fell in love with the artist's joyful expressions of country pleasures: flowers, fruits, and vegetables. 

The process: Melissa's paper cut still lifes are made over the course of weeks by first washing archival papers in hand-mixed watercolors, then cutting each layer and detail out, to create the forms. Next, each piece is carefully assembled and glued together, layer by layer, adding rich dimension to the subject. 

Each piece is one of a kind and comes framed in oak with glass.
